Marinos Stylianou was born and raised in Pafos. After completing his military duties, he studied History and Archaeology, specializing in the Historical Section at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Upon his return to Cyprus he worked as a Deputy Secretary / Director of Farmer’s Cooperative Company (SYN.E.KTI Pafos).
Then in 2007 he pursued a master’s degree in the UK in Counselling Studies from the University of Nottingham. In 2008, he pursued further postgraduate studies at the Open University of United Kingdom in Educational Administration and Organization with a master’s degree in Professional Studies in Education. He also holds a master’s degree in Law, International and European Economic Law (LLM) from the University of Neapolis.
Marinos Stylianou, for 10 consecutive years, from 2008 until March 31st, 2018 was a Senior Teacher of History and Philology, Head of the Counseling and Careers Office and Head of the Department of Greek Studies of the International School, recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture with educational and Administrative duties. He also taught as a trainer at the Ministry of Education Training Centers.
Engaging and offering to the public was a given for Mr. Stylianou. From his University years, he served as Public Relations Officer and Member of the Democratic Student Association of Thessaloniki, then District Secretary of NE.D.I.K Pafos (Youth Association of Democratic Party) and District Secretary of the Institute of Young Scientists. In November 2015, he assumed the position of President of Pafos Youth of the Democratic Party until December 2018. He had also been an ex officio member of the District Committee and member of Secretariat of Pafos Democratic Party and member of the Youth Political Central Council.
Marinos Stylianou at the Local Municipal Elections 2016 was elected Municipal Councillor in the Municipality of Pafos for the term of 2017 – 2021 with Democratic Party ballot paper. At the same time, the plenary of the Municipal Council decided at a meeting as represented by the Municipality of Pafos at the Greek School Board of Paphos for the following term 2017-2021. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Pafos Sewerage Board for the current five years and a member of Pafos Afrodite Festival Board. From 2020 until the end of his term he is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Multipurpose Center for Social Welfare of the Municipality of Paphos.
Marinos Stylianou on April 1st, 2018 assumed the position of Secretary/ Director of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The new elected Board of Directors of PCCI in 2020, appointed Mr. Stylianou as an alternate member of the Board of the Paphos Development Agency ‘Aphrodite’ until 2023.
